ACUPUNCTURE & CHINESE MEDICINE
What is it?
Acupuncture deals with the treatment and prevention of disease by
stimulating special points on the body with acupuncture needles.
Energy, or 'Chi,' flows along pathways to internal organs and at these
points the flow can become blocked, resulting in symptoms, such as pain.
Acupuncture can open these blockages and restore the flow of Chi
throughout the body, the pathways and organs.
Acupuncture is a branch of Chinese Medicine, a complete system of
healing that has evolved over many centuries. It also includes herbology,
Tui Na (massage and manipulation), dietary therapy, moxibustion (heat
therapy), Qigong and Tai Chi (therapeutic exercises).
What are the Benefits?
Chinese Medicine is not only effective in relieving symptoms, such as
pain, but also treats the underlying cause of disease, thereby restoring
balance to body, mind and spirit. Based on the identification of
patterns of imbalance and a resulting diagnosis that takes into account
the whole person, a wide range of diseases can be effectively treated.
